PAPR Accessories

Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPR) are motorized (battery powered) systems that deliver continuous flow or filtered air. PAPR masks are used in situations where particulates, gases and vapors hazards exist. When selecting a PAPR, consider the following:

• Choose between Facepiece mounted (blower is mounted on the facepiece or helmet) or Belt-mounted (blower is mounted on the belt and is often available with filters, cartridges and filter/cartridge combinations)
• Choose mask types - tight fitting half masks, tight-fitting full facepieces, hoods, loose-fitting facepieces or helmets

Each respiratory protection product has different air breathing filters comes are classified by type (Non Oil, Oil Resistant, and Oil Proof) and come in varying filter efficiencies. Personal respirator cartridges for contaminated air are coded according to the contaminant present : organic vapors, acid gases, ammonia, chloride dioxide, hydrogen chloride, hydrogen fluoride, hydrogen sulfide.
